New LAX-MEL flights landing late 2025.
Delta Airlines will soon be joining Qantas and United Airlines in the trans-Pacific airspace with direct flights announced between Melbourne and Los Angeles to commence in late 2025.
The American airline will fly the route three days a week from 3 December 2025. While it will be operating as a seasonal route to March 2026 at this stage, Delta has confirmed it is “still evaluating the potential for an extension into (US) summer” and no final decision has been reached at present.
Flight Details
- From LAX, flights will depart at 9:25pm on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, arriving in Melbourne at 8:15am two days later.
- From Melbourne, flights will depart at 10:25am on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, arriving in Los Angeles at 6:10am the same day.
Delta will be the first airline to fly the Airbus A350 along this route and promises a superior trip compared to Qantas and United Airlines’ Boeing 787-9’s fleet. Delta’s Airbus A350 are outfitted with doored Delta One private suites in business class as well as a choice Delta Select premium cabin.
Passengers to LAX will benefit from seamless transfers to more than 40 key cities in Delta’s North American network including New York, Boston and Dallas. First Class and Business passengers will have access to Delta One and Sky Club lounges, premium check-in and private TSA screening, making the travel experience even smoother.
